Peterborough County OPP officers have handed down impaired driving charges after a single vehicle collision.
On Wednesday, just after 6 p.m., officers received a report of a vehicle that had gone off the road and rolled before coming to rest in a field off County Road 8. Police arrived on scene where the driver was being attended to by EMS.
While officers were speaking to the driver, they noticed signs of impairment. After an investigation, the driver was arrested. The driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Thirty-five-year-old Isaac Hewton of Havelock, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol level of 80 plus, and failure to comply with a probation order.
The accused had his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on January 7, 2025.
