An affordable housing project planned for the hamlet of Deloro in Marmora and Lake will receive a new lease on life if the province agrees to renew its funding in support of it.
All-Together Affordable Housing Corporation and Springale Developments signed an agreement in 2019 that saw them receive $583,000 toward the construction of 15 affordable apartments for seniors.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, labour shortages, cost increases and other issues, construction didn’t occur and the funding was cancelled.
Wednesday, Hastings County’s Community and Human Services Committee recommended county council extend a deadline for a construction start for 30 days after receiving approval from the province for the funding.
All-Together Housing and Springale Developments say they are ready to start construction in 30 days and plan to finish the building by the end of next year.
