A Belleville police officer had to be treated for symptoms of drug overdose Monday after arresting an individual wanted for a break and enter.
Police responded to a north end gas station shortly after 4 a.m. Monday and arrested a suspect who was found to be in possession of a small bag of a coloured powder.
On the way to the police station, an officer began showing symptoms of drug overdose from exposure during the arrest and was administered two doses of Narcan before being taken to Belleville General Hospital.
The officer was later released from hospital.
The suspect, 46-year-old John Green, has a court date December.
