What started out as a stunt driving investigation resulted in the seizure of drugs and weapons early Friday in Belleville.
Shortly after midnight, police stopped a vehicle for stunt driving in the area of Highway 62 and Millennium Parkway.
Observations by officers resulted in the arrests of both occupants and the seizure of:
• 16.7 grams suspected fentanyl
• 18.3 grams suspected cocaine
• two CO2 replica handguns
• knives
• drug paraphernalia
• cell phones
• open liquor
A 47-year-old Trenton woman is charged with possession of a controlled substance (suspected Fentanyl) and (suspected cocaine) as well as weapons dangerous.
A 38-year-old male of no fixed address is charged with possession of a controlled substance (suspected Fentanyl and cocaine), possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (suspected Fentanyl and cocaine), weapons dangerous, possess weapons contrary to an order, obstruct peace officer, stunt driving, drive while prohibited (x2), drive motor vehicle with no insurance and operate a vehicle with open alcohol.
Police say the male was also wanted by neighbouring police services.
Both were held in custody for show cause hearings Friday.
