Parks Canada advises the public of a temporary two-week closure of the Carrying Place Swing Bridge to facilitate essential maintenance work. The bridge, located on County Road 33 (Loyalist Parkway), crosses the Murray Canal just north of Carrying Place.
To minimize daytime disruptions, the closure will occur during overnight hours.
Closure Schedule:
- Week 1: November 12 to November 14, 2024 (7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night).
- Week 2: November 17 to November 21, 2024 (7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night).
- Note: The bridge will remain open on November 15 and 16, 2024.
During these times, the bridge will be closed to all traffic in both directions. For alternate crossing, please use the Brighton Road Swing Bridge on County Road 64, located approximately five kilometres west.
Safety Reminder: Please exercise caution, respect work crews and equipment, and follow posted signage in the area.
