Belleville police responded to 69 calls for service over a period from 5 a.m. on November 4, 2024 to noon on November 5, 2024.
Domestic assault
On November 4, 2024 at 12:05 p.m., officers attended the area of Highway 37 and Highway 401 regarding a violent domestic incident. Police attended the area and located the female victim and she was taken to Belleville General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Police were able to locate the suspect a short time later and he was arrested. A 31-year-old Belleville man was charged with two counts of assault and one count of assault with a weapon. He was held for a bail hearing on November 5, 2024.
Threats/ theft of vehicle
On November 4, 2024 at 7:30 p.m., police attended a west end address for reports of a domestic dispute. Police were advised by the female victim that her ex had threatened her and stolen her vehicle. Police were able to contact the male and he agreed to turn himself in. A 21-year-old Brampton man was charged with assault, uttering threats, and theft of a motor vehicle. He was later released with a December 12 court date.
