A driver has been charged with multiple offences including drug trafficking after a vehicle went into the ditch in Trent Hills.
Northumberland OPP, Trent Hills Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on 12th Line East around 8 a.m. on November 1.
The driver suffered minor injuries.
Investigation revealed the motorist was a suspended driver and warrants existed for his arrest.
Police located an unsealed container of liquor in the vehicle along with 7.5 grams of cocaine with a street value of approximately $670.
Small plastic bags, a scale and $1385 in Canadian currency were also seized.
As a result, David Munford, age 42, from Campbellford, was arrested and charged with:
– Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
– Fail to comply with probation order
– Driving while under suspension
– Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available.
The accused is due to appear in court in Campbellford at a future date.
A local municipal police service also attended a Northumberland Detachment location to continue their investigation.
