Members of Belleville police’s Project Renewal team executed a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant in Belleville’s west end on Halloween.
Two adult females and two adult males were arrested.
As a result of the warrant, officers were able to locate the following in the residence:
- 101.3 grams cocaine
- $1575 Canadian currency
- Digital scales
- Packaging material
- 3 cell phones
Twenty-two-year-old Gary Cunningham of Beeton Ontario, 65-year-old Patricia Asselstine of Belleville, 49-year-old Shawna Rinder of Belleville and 50-year-old Kevin Symons were all charged with the following:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Proceeds of crime under $5000
Further investigation found that Cunningham was wanted on an arrest warrant by Hamilton Police service for the following:
- Aggravated assault x 2
- Discharge firearm with intent x 2
- Reckless discharge of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited firearm
Cunningham was held for a show cause hearing on the Belleville Police Service charges.
The Hamilton Police Service was notified of Cunningham’s arrest.
Asselstine, Rinder and Symons were all released on an undertaking with a court date in December.
