The Belleville Senators edged the Toronto Marlies 2-1 in a shootout on Saturday night, avenging Friday night’s 4-3 loss.
Jan Jenik and Matthew Highmore scored for the Senators.
The Senators opened scoring with an unanswered first period goal, leaving less than a minute on the clock before the second frame. Toronto would even the score in the second, leaving both teams neck in neck through the second, third, and then overtime and double overtime, before a shootout was called. Belleville found the back of the net in the shootout, and took the game.
The Senators face the Providence Bruins on Wednesday.
