Brighton council is hoping for better luck next time.
Earlier this week council voted to apply for up to $35 million from the provincial government’s Housing Enabling Water/Wastewater Systems Fund (HEWSF).
In April, Brighton applied for financial support from the same fund but was unsuccessful, however, the province has opened a second round of funding opportunities.
Any money from the fund would go toward the over $48 million cost of Brighton’s planned major sewage treatment upgrades.
