Members of the Prince Edward County OPP took two impaired motorists off the roadways this weekend.
On September 14, 2024, at approximately 4 a.m., members of the Prince Edward County OPP stopped a motorist on County Road 4 in Prince Edward County. As a result of the investigation, Anne-Marie Craig, age 50 from Trenton, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 10, 2024.
On September 16, 2024 at approximately 2 a.m., members of the Prince Edward County OPP were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 62. Officers observed a vehicle attempt to evade the RIDE program and conducted a traffic stop near Hennessey St. Upon further investigation, Caleb Benton, age 23 from Picton, was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 9, 2024. He also had his driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for a period of seven days.
