Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie was on the Lorne Brooker Show Thursday morning. Crombie discussed the state of the province, along with the by-election in the Bay of Quinte riding.
She has been door knocking in the riding all week with local candidate Sean Kelly and says the response has been strong.
“I have never seen a response like this and all the doors I knocked on today, and everyone knows Sean Kelly. I’m really hopeful, I’m really inspired. Certainly Sean knows the community so well.”
She spoke on the homeless crisis in the region and across Ontario.
“There is no coordinated strategy across the province to address homelessness, to address mental health care and addictions. Every municipality seems to be dealing with it on their own. Mayors get together to talk about best practices and what’s been working in their own community.”
The conversation also included infrastructure, health care, homelessness education, affordable housing, hospitals, and political downloading of services.
