The leader of Ontario’s Liberal Party was in Belleville Monday evening.
Bonnie Crombie was the special guest for the launch of Sean Kelly’s bid to become the Member of Provincial Parliament for Bay of Quinte.
Supporters were packed in like sardines at The Boathouse Restaurant to hear from their candidate, along with their leader.

Crombie’s cross-hairs were set on the Premier as she began to speak.
“We know what Doug Ford’s doing, calling a snap election. Thinking that we weren’t ready, that we didn’t have a candidate. Little did he know we have the best candidate and we’re gonna win.”
She continued that Ford is not focused on the average Ontarian.
“He’s here for his rich friends and insiders. We know that there is an affordability crisis that has to be addressed. We know that there’s a crisis in our health care system, there’s a crisis in our education system.”

Sean Kelly spoke of his experience and says he is ready to serve the community.
“I’ve worked hard for this community and the Bay of Quinte for the last 30 years. Community work, school board trustee, and now my second term at Belleville, at City Hall.”
“I know I’m the best candidate for this with my life experiences. I want this. There’s nobody going to outwork me and I just feel it’s my time. I’ve worked for it and I want to get to the next level.”
Kelly also took a swing at the premier. He says all Doug Ford talks about is beer.
“I wasn’t surprised when the local candidate had his campaign office at the former Beer Store.”
