The 16th annual Blair Smith Memorial Fishing with Kids event, taking place on Saturday, August 24, is a wonderful opportunity for children to experience the joy of fishing and create lasting memories with their families.

“This free event aims to foster a love for fishing among the youth in the community, just as Blair would have wanted,” says Event Organizer Tammy Smith.

Each child attending the event will receive a special loot bag filled with fishing tackle. Additionally, there will be a prize draw, face painting, a fishing pond, a booth with resources from the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, and complimentary hotdogs and drinks, making it a perfect family outing.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, children must be accompanied by an adult and wear a life jacket. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing poles and tackle.

“Blair’s legacy lives on through this event. We are honored to continue this tradition and provide a fun-filled day for children and their families,” says Smith.

Celebrate Blair Smith’s memory and enjoy a day of fishing, food and fun. For more information about the event, please visit the Blair Smith Memorial Fishing with Kids Facebook page.
