The City of Belleville has announced the signing of Dr. Mohammed Aamir Saiyed to its doctor recruitment program.
The city says Dr. Saiyed will participate in the program while he finishes his residency and will be ready to start his practice in the fall of 2025.
“The city has been working with Dr. Saiyed for approximately one year and we are so pleased he is ready to commit to working and living in Belleville once he completes his residency,” said Mayor Neil Ellis in a press release.
“We have enjoyed getting to know Dr. Saiyed. We know he will love living here and that our community will make him feel welcome and appreciated.”
Dr. Saiyed also commented on joining the program.
“I am excited with the opportunity to practise Family Medicine/Sports Medicine in Belleville and I look forward to giving back to a community in dire need of family doctors,” Dr. Saiyed said in the release.
Funding of the program is made through dividends the city receives as a shareholder of Elexicon Energy. The city says over $6 million has been committed to attracting primary healthcare providers.
