Prince Edward County Council has approved the recommended grants for the 2024 Community Grants program.
During Tuesday’s council meeting, councillors reviewed a report by municipal staff on the list of recommended grants through The County Foundation for approval.
The County Foundation is an independent organization established to administer community grants by the municipality, in a neutral and apolitical method, to avoid biases. The County Foundation evaluates grant requests based on a number of factors including community need, merits of the idea, and alignment with the priorities of the municipality.
For grants over $5000, the grants require final approval by council, after passing the foundation.
