Building activity in Belleville seems to be picking up steam.
The city issued 56 building permits with a construction value of $9.9 million last month compared to 33 permits worth $6.9 in April 2023.
Year-to-date construction is still behind last year with $28.4 million worth of building so far compared to $40.8 through the first four months of 2023.
Permits for 8 single family homes were issued last month and 26 so far this year.
Meanwhile in April permits were issued for the creation of apartment units in 6 existing single family houses.
To the end of April 58 permits have been issued leading to 58 residential units (single family, duplex, apartments, row house, condos).
In the industrial sector 2 permits for additions and alterations were issued worth just over $4 million.
