Hastings Prince Edward Public Health has released the March update for its Opioid Monitoring Dashboard.
In the month of March, the health unit is reporting 47 opioid-related calls to Hastings Quinte Paramedics as well as 24 incidents responded to by Ontario Provincial Police and Belleville Police Services.
There were five suspected drug-related deaths in March, bringing the total this year to 15.
Emergency department visits for opioid poisonings saw a drop from February, with 33 reported for the month of March. That is down from 71 in February.
Anonymous overdoses reported to the HPEPH website did see a slight increase with 27 reported for March. That is up from the 20 reported in February.
