Prince Edward County is officially on board with a regional doctor recruitment deal to prevent local doctor recruitment programs from grabbing doctors from other municipalities in the Quinte region.
During Tuesday’s council meeting, council approved the memorandum of understanding with the cities of Belleville, Brighton, Quinte West and Hastings County.
The memorandum states that the communities won’t try and attract a doctor who has already signed up with one of the other signing municipalities.
Belleville, Brighton and Quinte West have already approved the deal, and Hastings County is set to vote on Thursday.
