Correctional Service Canada says an inmate who was serving a life sentence for second degree murder at Collins Bay Institution has died while in their custody.
The death was reported on Monday.
Fifty-nine-year-old Steven Tanner had been serving his sentence since January 14, 1987.
The CSC says no further information about the cause of death is available.
