Close to $2 million is coming to the Bay of Quinte riding to support public transit.
Riding MPP and Minister of Energy Todd Smith, in an announcement early Monday, said $1.83 million from the Gas Tax program will be split between Belleville, Quinte West, and Prince Edward County.
Belleville will receive just under $1.1 million, Quinte West $529,000 and Prince Edward County $225,000.
Smith says the money can be used to expand service hours, increase routes, purchase vehicles, or improve accessibility.
