Nine people have been charged after a search warrant was executed at a residence in Quinte West.
On Wednesday around 5 a.m, the OPP’s Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team and members of the Quinte West Detachment, executed the warrant at a residence on King Street in Trenton as part of a drug trafficking investigation.
As a result of the investigation, nine people were arrested. Cash, ammunition, suspected cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine were confiscated during the investigation.
The following charges were laid.
Forty-six-year-old Brian Calladine of Bancroft, 32-year-old Olivia Kargus and 35-year-old Jonathan Spradbrow of Quinte West were charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
Forty-five-year-old Tanya Cooper and 40-year-old Dana Parker of Quinte West were charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I su bstance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Fifty-one-year-old John Clarke of Quinte West was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
- Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada
Thirty-six-year-old Brenda Banks of Quinte West was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid ( other than heroin)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
Thirty-five-year-old John McDade of Quinte West was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order
Thirty-three-year-old Joseph Veleke of Quinte West was charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)
- Failure to comply with undertaking
Brian Calladine, Tanya Cooper, Olivia Kargus and Dana Parker were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on a future court date.
The others were held for a bail hearing.
