The Trenton Golden Hawks are one win away from Round 2 of the OJHL playoffs.
Lucas Lapalm snapped a 1-1 tie at 2:30 of the second period as the G-Hawks rolled on to a 5-2 win over the Stouffville Spirit. Corbin Roach added the winning goal three minutes later while Ben Bonisteel turned away 37 shots.
Barret Joynt, Taeo Artichuk and Adam O’Marra rounded out the scoring for the Golden Hawks.
Trenton takes a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 4 is Thursday night in Stouffville.
Jr. Canadiens 3 Dukes 2
In Wellington the Toronto Junior Canadiens scored two unanswered goals in the second period and held on to beat the Dukes 3-2.
That gives the Junior Canadiens a 2-1 lead in the series with Game 4 Thursday night in Toronto.
Ryan Schaap and Brad Barker scored for Wellington.
Raiders 6 Huskies 0
Round 2 in the Provincial Junior C playoffs opened with a rout.
The Napanee Raiders, fresh off a six-game win over Picton in Round 1 skated to a 6-0 win over the rusty Huskies in Frankford.
Blake Ayelsworth scored twice in the first period while adding two assists.
Logan Vale stopped 37 shots for the shutout.
The Huskies hadn’t played 1n 17 days after getting a bye in the first round.
Game 2 is in Napanee Friday night.
