The fight for second place in the OJHL’s East Conference is going to go right down to the wire.
The Wellington Dukes did their part Sunday defeating the Markham Royals 7-4.
Goaltender Jack Lisson was busy for Wellington stopping 40 shots.
William Mitchell scored twice (14th & 15th) with an assist while Cory Jewitt added a goal (27th) and two assists.
Rounding out the Dukes’ scoring were Brad Barker (5th), Ethan Quick (14th) Ryan Schapp (23rd) and Logan Sitlani (3rd)
With four games to go in the regular season Wellington is tied with St. Mikes with 67 points.
The Dukes travel to Collingwood for a Family Day matinee to play the league-leading Blues.
Meanwhile, the East Conference-leading Trenton Golden Hawks are also on the road this Family Day.
They’re in Niagara Falls to play the Canucks.
