The Hastings Prince Edward District School Board has announced Tina Jones as its new Superintendent of Education.
She takes over for Kristin Niemi, who left to become Director of Education for the Renfrew County District School Board earlier this year.
““As a proud graduate of HPEDSB, I’m looking forward to serving the families, students and staff through this leadership role,” said Tina Jones, incoming Superintendent of Education.
“I’m excited about the district’s commitment to creating inspiring learning environments where all feel seen, heard and welcomed in our K-12 schools. Authentic partnerships in education between school, community and home are the foundation of our future. By focusing on students’ interests and strengths, building strong relationships and nurturing well-being, we can ignite learning and set our students on a journey as life-long learners.”
According to the school board. Jones will oversee the Eastside and North Hastings school groups, and lead Innovation and Inclusion Services with portfolios including Equity, Innovation, Indigenous Education and Safe Schools.
She begins her new role on February 20.
