The flag at Belleville City Hall will be lowered until further notice in honour of former municipal, provincial and federal politician Daryl Kramp who passed away Thursday at the age of 76.
The Office of Mayor Neil Ellis released this statement Friday morning:
We are deeply saddened to have learned of the passing of Daryl Kramp.
He was a champion for our community throughout his time as both MP and MPP in Belleville and the surrounding region, and we will always be grateful for the contributions he made to our city. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
On behalf of the City and Council, I extend our sincere condolences to his wife Carol Ann, family and loved ones, including his daughter, MP Shelby Kramp-Neuman.
The flag at City Hall will be lowered this morning until further notice in his honour.
