February marks Black History Month where people across the country honour the legacy of Black people in Canada and celebrate the many achievements and contributions of Black Canadians. This year’s theme is Black Excellence: A Heritage to Celebrate; a Future to Build.
Belleville Council will officially proclaim February as Black History Month at the Feb. 12 council meeting. Throughout the month, residents are encouraged to take advantage of the following resources and community events, and learn more about Black history and contributions:
