The Trenton Golden Hawks finished the first half of their calendar on a sour note.
On Friday night, the G-Hawks lost 3-2 to Stouffville, dropping two in a row and three of their last five.
Lucas Lapalm and Ryan Nichols notched the goals for Trenton, who despite their mini slump, are ranked fourth in the Canadian Junior Hockey League.
Trenton is off until January 5, when they welcome Aurora.
Their cross Quinte rival, the Wellington Dukes, continue their two week holiday.
Their play resumes on New Year’s Eve in Minden, when they meet the Haliburton County Huskies.
The Dukes and Hawks are the top two teams in the Eastern Conference.

In local Junior C action, the Napanee Raiders went into the Christmas break on a high with a 4-3 overtime win over the Port Hope Panthers.
Cameron Krupa led the way for the Raiders with three points.
Issac Langdon and Nate Burelle both had multi-point games in the loss for Port Hope.
The Junior C schedule rests after Saturday night, when the Picton Pirates travel to Campbellford to meet the Rebels.
It will not return until January 4, when the Pirates host the Frankford Huskies.

In Senior (EOSHL) play, Darren Doherty had a five-point game which included four goals, to lead the Tweed Oil Kings over the Centre Hastings Ice Miners 10-3.
Troy Webster made 39 saves for Tweed, in a game where Centre Hastings outshot Tweed 42-38.
The two teams meet again on Saturday December 30 in Marmora.
The Deseronto Bulldogs welcome the Ice Miners this evening (Saturday) at 6:30 p.m.
