It took three rounds of voting, but Mississauga’s mayor was declared the new leader of the Ontario Liberal Party.
In her victory speech in Toronto Saturday, Bonnie Crombie told delegates there is a lot of hard work ahead between now and the 2026 campaign.
She says she plans to resign as Mississauga mayor early next year after she sees through the budgets for the city and Peel Region.
Crombie also says she’s undecided as to whether she will seek a seat in the Ontario legislature, or if she will travel the province to introduce herself to voters and drum up support for the Liberals.
