The Wellington Dukes slipped past the St. Michaels Buzzers 5-4 in double overtime on Friday night.
Zander Latreille, Connor Hunt, Ethan Quick, and William Mitchell scored for the Dukes.
The Dukes got off to a strong start with the first period’s only goal early on, before the Buzzers came back for an action-packed second period, claiming three goals while the Dukes took two of their own to even the score going into the third. With both teams scoring once in the third frame, it came down to a deadlocked overtime with no goals, and then after just over 18 minutes of double overtime play, the Dukes grabbed the game-winning goal.
The Dukes are back in action on Sunday, travelling to face the Niagara Falls Canucks.
