Quinte West OPP remain involved in an active investigation this afternoon.
Preliminary reports coming from the scene indicate it is a kidnapping investigation.
Via posts on social media platform X, OPP say they responded to a collision on Meyers Creek Road near Jeffrey Drive early Wednesday afternoon.
Individuals have fled from the vehicle.
OPP, along with Emergency Response Team and Canine Units, remain in the area of Aikens Road, Whites Road and Meyers Creek Road.
Road blocks are diverting traffic out of the area.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
School buses are delayed at the following schools Foxboro, Trent River, Prince Charles (T), Kente, Frankford, Stirling, Sus. Moodie, Mass-Red, Bayside PS, Bayside Secondary School.
Parents can pick up their children at the school if possible.
