In Provincial Jr. A hockey Friday night in Trenton the Golden Hawks got by the Toronto Jr. Canadiens 5-4.
Scoring for the G-Hawks were Matthew Lee on a power play, Adam O’Marra, David Fournier, Ryan Nichols, and Owen Ireton scored the winner with just 59 seconds left in the game.
Trenton outshot Toronto 37 to 26 in front of 675 fans and remains just one point ahead of Markham in first place in the Eastern Conference, however, the Royals have played one less game.
Meanwhile, the Golden Hawks are on the road playing Pickering Sunday night at 7:30.
Also Sunday the Wellington Dukes will visit the North York Rangers for a 2:30 matinee game.
In the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League Friday night the Tweed Oil Kings cruised past the Centre Hastings Ice Miners 14-5.
Saturday night the Deseronto Bulldogs will be in Barry’s Bay to take on the MV Wolves.
In Jr. C it’s Picton at Frankford at 6:50, Amherstview at Campbellford and Napanee at Port Hope with both games starting at 7:30.
