The Markham Royals defeated the Wellington Dukes 6-3 on Friday.
Panayioti Efraimidis and Ethan Quick scored for the Dukes.
The Royals opened scoring in under three minutes of play before the Dukes got on the board to end the first period with a 1-1 tie. The Royals launched into an action-packed second period, scoring in just five seconds of play and going on to take two more points while the Dukes could only get one extra and lagged behind. The Dukes grabbed a last goal in the third period but it wasn’t enough as the Royals got two more and took home the win.
The Dukes host the Milton Menace on Sunday at the Duke Dome.
