A second suspect has been arrested in connection with gunshots fired in downtown Belleville last month.
Early on August 12, Belleville police received several 911 calls about gunfire in an area along the west side of Front Street.
There were no injuries, but several specialty units – the Criminal Investigations Division, Forensic Unit and Emergency Response Unit – were called in to assist with the investigation.
On Tuesday, with help from the public, members of Project Renewal and the Belleville Police Emergency Response Unit located 20-year-old Nicholas Baumhour in Quinte West.
The Belleville resident was held for a bail hearing on charges of attempt to commit murder using a restricted firearm, discharge firearm with intent, and fail to comply with probation order.
The other accused, 24-year-old Brandon Alexander of Northbrook was arrested in Kingston on August 15 on several charges including attempt to commit murder using a restricted firearm.
