The Wellington Dukes started their pre-season on the right foot with a 5-2 victory over the host Renfrew Wolves.
The game start was delayed for an hour due to ice conditions.
Sacha Trudel, Dimitri Tzaferis, and Jack Nolan scored for the Dukes.
Both teams came out the gate swinging in an action-packed first period. Renfrew took the first goal but the Dukes came right back to take two before the Wolves could score again to even the score going into the second frame.
A single goal for the Dukes was scored in the second period, before two more in the third closed the game with a commanding lead for the Dukes.
The Dukes will play another pre-season game on the road in Cobourg, on Wednesday.
