The Quinte West OPP have charged an individual with a historical sexual assault.
On August 15 2023, Quinte West OPP, including members of the Quinte West Crime Unit, arrested an individual in relation to a historical, sexual assault investigation.
Derek Bemister, 60 years old from Trenton, has been charged with the following offences:
- Sexual interference (person under 16 years of age)
- Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age
- Sexual assault
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on September 28, 2023.
