Youth thinking about a career in the trades can get a taste of the industry by attending a summer day camp at Loyalist College.
Skills Ontario Summer Camps are being held across the province providing hands-on activities for youth entering grades 7 to 9 to learn about skilled trades and technologies.
Loyalist is hosting a camp the week of July 31 and there are still spots available.
Participating youth will try different skilled trade activities like an automotive workshop, coding workshop, mechanical workshop and a cyber security workshop.
There will also be activities to build soft skills like leadership, teamwork and problem-solving.
The program is supported by the federal and provincial government along with sponsors Magna International and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB).
The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 31 to August 4.
