Officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) OPP have charged two drivers with impaired driving.
On July 7, 2023 at approximately 9:30 p.m., L&A OPP were dispatched to a call for service regarding a male sitting on a vehicle roof while a female was driving in Amherstview. Police located the vehicle and suspects parked at their residence. Officers determined that the female driver of the reported vehicle was showing signs of impairment. The female driver was subsequently arrested.
As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP have charged Nikki Card, age 30, of Loyalist Township, with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Dangerous operation
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on July 25, 2023. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
On July 8, 2023, at approximately 2 a.m., L&A OPP were dispatched to a call for service regarding a singe vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Loyalist Township. Officers attended the scene and determined that the lone driver of the vehicle was showing signs of impairment and an Approved Screening Device was administered. The driver was subsequently arrested.
As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP have charged Yesenia Villada Paulgarin, age 26, of Scarborough, with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
- Driving while under suspension
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
- Class G1 licence holder – drive at unlawful hour
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on August 1, 2023. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
