Applications are opening up for the latest affordable housing developments in Prince Edward County.
Prince Edward County Affordable Housing Corporation is opening up applications for units in two new developments, one in Picton and the other in Wellington.
The Wellington development is a 36-unit multi-residential complex built at the site of the former Wellington Arena. The building will house a mixture of one-, two- and three-bedroom units along with four separate townhouse units.
The Picton Development is a 12-unit modular building on Disraeli Street, with six bachelor and six one-bedroom units.
Rents will vary from $600 monthly for a bachelor unit to $1200 for a three-bedroom unit.
Applications for the units are now open. Potential residents will be selected based on a number of criteria including housing status, income, and county residency.
Public information sessions are planned to help those interested with completing their applications, and will be held at the following locations:
- Tuesday, June 27, 1 p.m., Picton Branch of the Prince Edward County Public Library, (208 Picton Main Street)
- Thursday June 29, 10:30 a.m., Consecon Branch of the Prince Edward County Public Library (211 County Road 29)
- Thursday, June 29, 1 p.m., Wellington Branch of the Prince Edward County Public Library (261 Wellington Main Street)
