A Belleville businessman has been named the new chair of the Humane Society Prince Edward Hastings.
Greg Sudds is president and general manager of West City Honda/West City Powersports, and past president of the Belleville Chamber of Commerce.
He joined HSHPE’s board as a director in 2022 and is chair of the Capital Campaign Committee.
The Humane Society made the appointment during its annual meeting held at its new animal shelter.
“I’m excited and honoured to take on this new role with Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward,” said Sudds. “Our past-president, directors and staff have overseen the evolution of this organization over the last several years. I look forward to helping it to further enhance its ability to serve the community and animals in need and I continue to be amazed and heartened by the width and breadth of community support for HSHPE.”
Chris Barry and Kelly McCaw and treasurer Jim Woolnough, all leaving at the end of their terms on the board, were honoured in recognition of their service. Outgoing chair, Donna Endicott, was praised by fellow board members for her outstanding service to HSHPE and devotion to the care of animals.
Joining the board as directors are Fred Armitage (Prince Edward County), Brenda Bond (Belleville), Peter Kempenaar (Stirling), Wendy McCoy (Marmora) and Nicole Peters (Belleville).
Continuing on the board are Donna Endicott, now as past-chair, Hassem Koudsi as vice-chair, Arlene Shepard as secretary, Daniel Ringham as treasurer and Rhonda Schmidt as director.
Nima Chooback, David Joyce and Glenn Lidstone are joining HSHPE committees as vice-chairs.
