There wasn’t anything unusual about Belleville Mayor Neil Ellis’s speech to the Belleville Chamber of Commerce Wednesday morning until the very end of it.
An employee of The Grand Banquet Hall ran onto the stage and handed Ellis a cardboard box and

The one million square foot Amazon distribution and logistics centre in the industrial park remains under construction but is expected to be completed sometime this fall.
“Again, lots of jobs coming, a lot of things yesterday we spoke about (meeting with Amazon officials) they wanted to become part of the community, corporate and social responsibility and give back to the community.”
In the past it was said that 800 to 1,000 jobs could become available at the distribution centre.
The announcement was made to a record crowd of 183 people.
