Twenty-eight-year-old Zach Baldwin, head striking coach at Infinite Martial Arts and Fitness in Belleville was a winner in his MMA pro fight debut in Kingston.
Baldwin secured a first round TKO over Blair West of Owen Sound.
Raiders host Panthers in Jr. C semi
The Napanee Raiders will shake off the rust when they host the Port Hope Panthers in Game 1 of their Junior C East Tod Division semi final tonight (Tues).
The Raiders haven’t played since March 4 after being rewarded with a first round bye for finishing in first place.
Port Hope is coming off a five-game series with the Frankford Huskies.
They finished 24 points behind Napanee in the regular season.
Game time is at 7:30 p.m. at the Strathcona Paper Centre.
Young Dogs win
The Tweed Young Dogs went undefeated to win a hockey tournament in Bancroft over the weekend. No other details are available.
Bulldogs host training session
The Belleville Bulldogs Rugby Club is holding an indoor rugby session this Saturday at the Loyalist Dome for Junior Boys Under 14 to Under 18.
Guest coaches from Queen’s University will run the sessions.
It’s a good way to get ready for the upcoming Bulldogs season as well as the high school boys rugby season.
The session is free.
