The cadets of the 173 Royal Tiger Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron had some special visitors last week.
8 Wing Commander Coloner Leif Dahl and Wing Chief Warrant Officer Renee Hansen met the cadets, aged 12-18 on January 11 and answered questions about the Canadian Armed Forces, their careers in the Royal Canadian Air Force, and much more.
Colonel Dahl then presented parting words and gifts to the Squadron’s outgoing cadet commander, Warrant Officer First Class (WO1) Lucas Frederick.
He recently turned 19. He plans to pursue post-secondary education in Ottawa next school year.
Colonel Dahl also presented the incoming cadet commander, WO1 Emmitt Noskeye-Rocco, with his new rank and position as the top cadet.
The 173 RCACS parades on Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Trenton High School. New cadets are welcome any time.
The aim of the Cadet Program is to develop in youth the attributes of good citizenship and leadership, promote physical fitness and stimulate the interest of youth in sea, land and air activities of the Canadian Armed Forces.
