Damage has been estimated at about $80,000 following a garage fire Friday morning in Quinte West.
Crews from Station 2 (South Murray) were called to 16715 Highway 2 just west of Trenton near Short Street a little after 4 a.m. Station 5 (Batawa) was called in for tanker support.
Fire Chief John Whelan says a neighbour heard popping and saw the glow next door and called it in.
The fire started in the ceiling of the detached structure. The suspected cause is electrical but the fire prevention office will be investigating.
Whelan says firefighters were able to pull two four-wheelers and a classic car from the structure.
