Quinte West council is expected to take another step toward the construction of more affordable housing in Trenton at its meeting tonight.
Council will vote on a recommendation to declare the former College Street School property surplus to clear the way for Hastings County to build a four-storey apartment building featuring 32 units on a part of the four-acre property.
That section of the land had previously been sold by the city to Hastings County for $400,000.
The rest of the property will be put up for sale for other housing development.
