Small Business Week kicked off Monday in the Bay of Quinte area.
Dignitaries from across the Bay of Quinte attended the Quinte Business Development Centre at Loyalist College to highlight the importance of small- and medium-sized companies to the Canadian and local economies.
Among those in attendance were representatives for Bay of Quinte MP Ryan Williams and Bay of Quinte MPP Todd Smith.
Councillor Tyler Allsopp represented the City of Belleville.
Also in attendance were Prince Edward County Mayor Steve Ferguson and Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison.
Quinte West Chamber of Commerce President Rick Davies says it’s important to support smaller businesses, especially after the pandemic.
“We witnessed the damage the pandemic inflicted on so many businesses and the tenacity, the resilience of our local business owners to survive and and move forward,” Davies told the audience.
“It’s gonna take everybody working together to keep the local economy healthy and to make our businesses continue to be profitable.”
