It’s been almost three decades since Madoc hosted a Junior C hockey game but that will change…for one night anyway.
The Frankford Huskies will host the Port Hope Panthers on Monday October 17 at 6:50 at the Madoc Arena in a regular season Provincial Junior C League game.
The game will be in support of residents in the Centre Hastings area after two strong storms, one including a tornado, swept through the area causing significant devastation.

Funds raised from the game will go to help those affected by the storms.
Huskies coach Pat Shearer says, “We are one big community around the Bay of Quinte. Four players on the Huskies call Madoc home.”
Mayor Tom Deline said, “The Frankford Huskies talked to us about raising money and awareness for those affected by the storms in our community. We cannot wait for the game, the funds raised, and the promotion that will come out of the game.”
Madoc was home to the Junior C Hurricanes in the 1970s and ’80s before changing their name to the Wildcats. That team played from 1990 to 1994 before ceasing operation.
