Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services is hosting a public open house as part of Fire Prevention Week.
The free, family-friendly event will be held on Saturday, October 8 from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Fire Station 1, 49 Dixon Dr., Trenton.
Attendees can tour the fire station, view vehicles and equipment used by Quinte West Fire/Rescue, and test a fire extinguisher on a live fire.
There will also be complimentary coffee, pop and hot dogs, fire safety material and numerous door prizes.
The 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention week will be celebrated from October 9 – 15 with this year’s theme being “Fire Won’t Wait. Plan Your Escape.”
Residents are encouraged to develop a home escape plan with all household members and practise it regularly.
