On the 29th of September, 2022, at 1:43 pm, Belleville Police were called to Pine Street Belleville, for reports of a shooting. Initial information indicated that two males had entered the residence and shot the victim several times with a handgun. The victim, a 28-year-old Toronto man, was transported to Belleville General Hospital with several gunshot wounds and later taken to Kingston General Hospital, where he remains in serious condition. Police, through investigation, were quickly able to identify suspects for the shooting. At 3:36 pm, members of the Belleville Police Service “Project Renewal” and the Belleville Police Service Emergency Response Unit conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Princess Street and Taylor Kidd Boulevard in Kingston.
As a result of the investigation and vehicle stop, the following individuals were arrested and charged:
Twenty-three-year-old Quorde Quincy Bowen of Toronto, was charged with:
- Attempt Murder using a restricted firearm
- Two counts of Fail to comply with a probation order
- Four counts of Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a Probation Order
- Possession for the Purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime
Twenty-four-year-old Nathaniel Mascoll of no fixed address was charged with:
- Attempt Murder using a restricted firearm
- Three counts of Adult fail to comply with a probation order
- Possession for the Purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime
Twenty-three-year-old Destiny Kaitlyn Burns was charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime
All three were held for a bail hearing on the 30th of September, 2022.
