Quinte Health Care has announced it is rebranding and will now be known as Quinte Health.
The decision to become Quinte Health came after accepting a recommendation from “stakeholder input” to put a focus on health as the organization’s purpose as well as in the name.
A new symbol for Quinte Health was also released. It is described as four arrows in four different colours representing its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as well as represent the four hospitals in the region coming together to form one team.
“We have put people at the centre of everything we do at Quinte Health, including patients, their families and our team members,” said Dr. Colin MacPherson, Chief of Staff, Quinte Health, in a release.
“The importance of compassion and humanity cannot be overstated. Health care is more than just applying good standards of practice. It’s about engaging patients and our communities in decisions that impact them, and being supportive, empathetic and equitable in the care we provide.”
Quinte Health says it will be slowly implementing its new name and is asking the public to start referring to the organization by its new name.
“We no longer want to be reduced to an acronym, particularly since “QHC” doesn’t articulate what our organization does to provide better health for our communities,” said Stacey Daub, President and CEO of Quinte Health, in a release.
“We shortened our name to Quinte Health because we do more than just provide health care. We need to think about the overall health of our teams, patients and communities. We have the opportunity to partner to create better health across our communities.”
